Élevage Minder

Located in Avenches, Élevage Minder is a family business specializing the breeding and raising beef cattle from Limousin.

On the shores of Lake Murten the farm was taken over in 1973 by Elisabeth and Fritz Minder’s family. Today, it covers an area of approx. 40 hectares. In 2004, the acquisition of 15 Limousin heifers, imported directly from France, kick-started this great adventure.

The following year, the herd grew with the arrival of 21 Limousin bred heifers. After visiting the summit of the breeding farm in Clermont-Ferrand in 2010, the Limousin bull, Ciceron, champion of France, joined the herd and the breeding began.

Today, the business is focused on breeding, participating in competitions, selling Limousin cattle for breeding purposes, and selling and buying slaughter cattle. Great value is placed on the proper keeping of livestock, as well as respect for the animal.
