What do kale, eggs and cocoa have in common?

All three strengthen the immune system!

Irene Rolfo, Novae’s Nutrition Manager and Dietician, recommends integrating foods with nutritional qualities known to help boosting the immune system into your seasonal dishes:

1. Fermented foods rich in fiber:

Stewed turnips, sauerkraut, fermented milk, kefir, tempeh, miso, and of course, ALL roots vegetables

2. Foods rich in vitamin A and/or D:

Calf, chicken and heifer liver, eggs, fish — such as herring, mackerel, sardines, tuna, and salmon, orange fruits and vegetables, and cocoa (dark chocolate)

3. Those rich in zinc:

Red meat (dried meat), eggs, offal (liver, hearts, kidneys), seafood (oysters, mussels, scallops), sesame seeds, peanuts, cheese (in particular, Maroilles, Vacherin Mont-d´Or and Morbier)

4. And foods rich in vitamin C:

Fresh citrus fruits and their juice, kiwis, fresh raw vegetable juice, kale, savoy cabbage
